Software Development Manager
As a software development manager, you will lead a team of engineers building transformative solutions powered by agentic AI to automate and optimize Amazon's global employee onboarding and experience operations. You will own the employee onboarding and experience (EOE) contingencies & services tech team, a strategic initiative driving $50M+ in annual operational savings and delivering significant productivity gains and experience improvements for 1.5M+ employees and part time workers. This high-impact role involves navigating the complexity of 3M+ transactions annually across 67 countries in critical functions like background checks, drug tests, medical checks, work authorization, immigration, and relocation. You will leverage AI and automation capabilities to reimagine these processes, eliminating repetitive manual work and empowering service teams to focus on high-value, human-centric activities. Your technical leadership will be essential as you drive the development of foundational data infrastructure, reusable primitives, and intelligent agent-based workflows. You will partner closely with stakeholders across operations, corporate, AWS, and international teams to understand pain points, define requirements, and deliver transformative solutions at scale. People management responsibilities include building and guiding a high-performing, diverse engineering team, providing technical mentorship, and fostering a culture of innovation. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400 / year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700 / year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits.
