Position Overview :

The Assistant Child Care Teacher will work closely with the Lead Teacher to implement daily activities, support children’s social-emotional growth, and maintain a safe, engaging classroom environment. This is a part-time position with the possibility of full-time hours for candidates with prior child care experience.

Duties

Responsibilities :

• Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and executing developmentally appropriate activities that encourage learning and creativity.
• Provide attentive, responsive care to children in a positive and nurturing manner.
• Support the Lead Teacher in classroom management, routines, and transitions.
• Foster social skills, self-regulation, and positive interactions among children.
• Maintain a clean, safe classroom by following all health and safety guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to build a strong, supportive community.

Requirements

Qualifications :

High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in early childhood education preferred.

Previous experience in child care or a classroom setting is a plus.

Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills.

A warm, caring demeanor with a passion for working with young children.

Ability to be flexible with hours based on program needs, with potential to transition to full-time for qualified candidates.
