Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Hands-On Maintenance & Technical Work
• Perform advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of building systems and equipment including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, doors, fixtures, and general facility infrastructure
• Perform and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life
• Respond promptly to maintenance issues impacting safety, operations, or guest experience
• Maintain work areas, tools, and equipment in a clean, organized, and safe condition
• Maintain facility infrastructure including buildings, lighting, plumbing systems, and grounds
Equipment & Systems Oversight
• Maintain and service kitchen equipment including lowboys, walk-ins, and ovens
• Maintain and service ice machines, air conditioning units, and mini-split systems
• Maintain and service generators, chillers, and glycol systems
• Maintain and service company vehicles and forklifts
• Research replacement parts for damaged, failed, or aging equipment
• Coordinate vendor access, service scheduling, and on-site oversight as directed by management
Supervisory & Team Management Responsibilities
• Supervise and support maintenance technicians across all assigned properties
• Assign daily work orders, schedules, and priorities to maintenance staff
• Provide training, coaching, and technical instruction to maintenance technicians
• Monitor productivity, quality of work, and adherence to Company standards
• Conduct performance feedback, participate in performance evaluations, and recommend corrective action when appropriate
• Assist with onboarding and training of new maintenance associates
Multi-Property Oversight
• Oversee maintenance operations across Ponte Winery and two affiliated properties
• Ensure consistent maintenance standards, procedures, and documentation across all locations
• Communicate property-specific maintenance needs, risks, and timelines to the Maintenance Manager
• Allocate labor and resources effectively across properties based on operational priorities
Communication & Coordination
• Communicate clearly and professionally with operations, hospitality, vendors, and management teams regarding maintenance status and timelines
• Escalate safety concerns, equipment failures, staffing needs, or operational risks to management
• Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize disruption to guest experience and operations
Safety & Compliance
• Ensure the safety of guests and associates at all times
• Enforce all safety procedures including PPE use, lock-out/tag-out, and safe tool operation
• Ensure work is performed in compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and Company policies
• Monitor and enforce Company environmental and sustainability standards
• Perform any other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive maintenance experience in hospitality, winery, resort, or commercial facilities
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience managing maintenance staff
• Strong multi-trade technical skills including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general maintenance
• Demonstrated ability to supervise, train, and motivate a maintenance team
• Ability to prioritize tasks and allocate resources across multiple properties
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Valid California driver’s license and ability to travel between properties
• Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as business needs require
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work indoors and outdoors in varied environmental conditions
