Logistics Lead

Oversees team members to assure tasks are being accomplished in timely manner. Leads logistic crews in major tasks / projects. Logistics leader is the first form of contact in logistic services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Event set-ups / breakdowns, including tents, stages, floor covering, barricades, tables, chairs etc.
• Office moves, including furniture, file cabinets, etc. Dormitory moves including beds / bunking beds, desks, chests, etc.
• Operation of floor machines as necessary, and other tasks as assigned.
• Operates forklifts, mechanical lift gates and mechanical platforms to facilitate loading and unloading of materials, as appropriate to the areas of operation.
• Operates a large moving truck in the transportation of moving materials, as necessary.
• Will assume Lead Foreman position if Lead is not available.
• Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
• May serve as the main contact person in communications with customers regarding work orders.
• May train employees on safety, moving techniques, and MSMU policies.
• Snow removal duties will be necessary seasonally.
• A uniform, issued by MSMU will be required.
• Will assist with grounds duties as needed.
• May be asked to assist any other department within the campus community and will be required to perform any other duties as assigned by immediate Supervisor / Manager / Director.
• Must be willing and able to work independently without supervision.
