Experience : Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical / Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry

License : Valid Nursing License required

Certifications : ACLS, BLS

Must-Have :

Candidate must successfully pass the EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms.

Candidate must have the Flu vaccine with no exemptions.

Description :

The Registered Nurse will assume the care of patients with varying diagnoses while they are boarding in the emergency department awaiting bed placement in an inpatient unit.

The nurse is required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity.

Previous charge experience is preferred.

Must be knowledgeable in blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, and various medical procedures and protocols.

The nurse will be involved in patient care for adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics.

Daily patient census is approximately 125, with about 52 beds available.

Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services, is essential.

Required skills include managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, isolation precautions, and various patient care interventions.

Rapid response and effective communication are critical components of this role.

The nurse should be prepared to manage patients with diverse medical needs, including those with renal failure, seizure disorders, and substance withdrawal.

Floating requirements indicate flexibility and adaptability within nursing assignments.
