INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY

Location : Tampa FL

HYBRID

Our client a prominent AmLaw 200 firm is seeking a talented Associate Attorney to join their Intellectual Property group in Tampa . The ideal candidate will have experience in patent and trademark prosecution as well as IP transactions.

Candidate Profile

  • JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record .
  • Bar Admission in Florida.
  • 25 years of substantive experience in patent and trademark prosecution and IP transactions .
  • USPTO registration strongly preferred .
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and practical judgment are required.
  • Experienced in negotiating and drafting intellectual property transactions and software agreements is a plus .

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day prosecution dockets and prepare USPTO filings .
  • Conduct patent and trademark searches prepare clearance opinions / advice and respond to office actions responses .
  • Negotiate and draft IP transaction and software agreements .
  • Conduct IP due diligence for M&A transactions and prepare related documentation.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients and collaborate with other lawyers within the firm.

    Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive compensation : includes an annual salary range of $150000 - $170000 determined by experience and market factors alongside eligibility for profit-sharing and a discretionary bonus .
