Qualifications :
- High School Diploma
- College coursework or ten (10) or more years law enforcement experience
- Positive attitude with ability to work well with staff and community
- Good rapport and desire to be around various age groups of students and adults
- Ability to monitor behavior of all individuals inside and outside school campus
- Ability to maintain confidential information
- Demonstrable understanding of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)

Ensure excellence, equity and access for all studentsCarry out job responsibilities based on the vision, mission, and core values of the districtAdhere to Board of Education polices and related rules and regulations as well as federal and state lawsAssist elementary school administrators with providing safe and secure schoolsPromote safe and healthy student behaviors through classroom presentations, student groups, and providing resourcesDisplay ethical and professional behavior in working with students, parents, school personnel, and outside agencies associated with the schoolProvide support at recess, lunchroom and dismissal to monitor behaviors and provided safe environmentsSupport elementary school administrators investigating issues related to fighting, bullying, threats, vandalism, trespassing, thefts, etc. and other investigations as neededSupport school administrators when dealing with student attendance issuesCoordinate school-based security and emergency operation planning in accordance with district adopted plans and update and maintain school-specific emergency operation plansAccess camera systems as part of investigating a suspected violation of district policy and during a health or safety emergencyAssist school administrators with on campus vehicle traffic, school bus transportation, and pedestrian mattersParticipate in district-supported training and provide updates to school administrators on issues related to school safety in collaboration with local law enforcement and public safety officialsProvide training on safety and security issues for the staff and studentsMaintain and recommend for purchase, school-related safety equipmentConduct internal investigations on behalf of the district as neededDevelop and maintain positive working relationships with local law enforcement and public safety officialsProvide security presence at district events including graduation ceremonies and Board of Education meetings as neededServe on district-supported committees and act as a liaison to community partners regarding school safety issuesProvide support at district events and / or meetings outside of the standard workday, up to 7 per school yearWork calendar follows that of a school calendar with holiday recess.Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Safety and Management ServicesMethod :
