[job_card.job_description]Lead and coordinate substation engineering projects from conception through completion, including design, planning, and construction support. Collaborate with protection & control, civil, and transmission teams to develop solutions that meet project requirements. Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and contractor submittals. Provide technical guidance to field teams during substation construction, commissioning, and maintenance activities. Conduct site inspections and support troubleshooting of substation equipment and systems. Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Mentor junior engineers and serve as a subject matter expert within the substation team. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in substation engineering, with at least 2 years at Georgia Power or supporting Georgia Power. Strong knowledge of substation design, relay protection, SCADA systems, and utility construction practices. Proficient in engineering software and tools used for substation design and analysis. Excellent communication, teamwork, and project management skills. Willingness to travel to project sites as required. Work with a team of experienced engineers on challenging and high-impact utility projects. Opportunity to leverage your Georgia Power experience to shape best practices and drive innovation. - The successful candidate will provide technical expertise, lead project execution, and support cross-functional teams to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electric substations. This position is a contract to hire.
