Position Summary : The Nurse Supervisor will oversee nursing staff and daily clinical operations to ensure high-quality care in the Skilled Nursing Facility. Reporting to the Director of Nursing, this role involves coordinating care plans, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a collaborative work environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, clinical expertise, and a commitment to excellence in resident care.Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Assist the Director of Nursing (DON) in planning, organizing, and supervising nursing operations to ensure high-quality resident care.

Provide leadership, support, and coaching to nursing staff, ensuring compliance with facility policies and procedures.

Support recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions for nursing staff.

Ensure compliance with CMS, AHCA, OSHA, and state health regulations.

Participate in survey readiness and assist with state and federal inspections.

Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, administration, residents, and families.

Works closely with the DON in the administration of policies and procedures of the nursing department.

Partners in planning, organizing, and supervising the Nursing Department to ensure competent nursing care for the residents.

Plan, develop, and implement staff education programs to ensure nursing staff maintain clinical competencies.

Ensure monthly staff meetings are scheduled and conducted, including agenda preparation, attendance tracking, staff notifications, and training.

Supervise daily nursing activities, conduct evaluations, address concerns, support hiring, and provide ongoing professional development.

Coordinate new hire orientation, skills training, and ongoing professional development for nursing personnel.

Maintain training records and ensure compliance with state-mandated continuing education requirements.

Serve as the Infection Control Officer and oversee TB administration and readings for the facility.

Maintain the Infection Control Module in PCC.

Ensure that McGeers Criteria is followed, including monitoring the lab portal to support Antibiotic Stewardship, notifying the physician as needed to ensure the best antibiotic is ordered, ensuring probiotics and appropriate medications are ordered, enforcing stop dates for antibiotics, providing infection control education to residents and responsible parties and documenting completion, and tracking and trending infections to identify and address patterns.

Provide in-service training on infection prevention, resident safety, emergency procedures, and clinical best practices.

Identify training gaps and implement learning strategies to enhance staff performance and retention.

Organize and lead nursing competency assessments and certifications.

Develop, implement, and oversee the facilitys Infection Prevention and Control Program in compliance with CDC, CMS, and OSHA guidelines.

Monitor and analyze infection trends, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions.

Educate and train staff on infection control practices, hand hygiene, PPE use, and outbreak management.

Conduct infection surveillance, risk assessments, and audits to ensure compliance.

Lead antibiotic stewardship programs to prevent antimicrobial resistance.

Oversee employee health screenings, vaccinations, and exposure management.

Develop and implement infection control response plans for pandemics, outbreaks, and public health emergencies.

Conduct emergency drills and staff training on disaster preparedness and infection control protocols.

Serve as a key leader in incident investigations and root cause analysis for infection-related concerns.

Collaborate with the DON to support all clinical processes.

Provide backup leadership in the absence of the DON.

Perform on-call responsibilities as determined by the DON.

Conduct timely reviews of referrals as requested by the DON.

Attend daily stand-up meetings and stand-down meetings, ensuring that key items are addressed.

Advises the DON of problems related to resident care.

Monitors the resident medical and nursing history for completeness and inclusion in the medical record.

Ensure residents receive high-quality, person-centered care in accordance with care plans.

Monitor residents for signs of infection and implement appropriate infection control measures.

Work closely with nursing staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to enhance resident outcomes.

Participates in QA, Care Plans, and QAPI

Establishes and maintains good public relations.

Helps team ensure quality and standards of care.

Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.Supervisory Responsibilities :

Oversee and provide leadership to nursing staff, ensuring high standards of resident care.

Supervise and counsel personnel to fulfill the objectives of the Nursing Department.

Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and retention of qualified nursing personnel.

Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and corrective actions as needed.

Ensure proper staffing levels and manage schedules in collaboration with the DON, the Healthcare Scheduler, and HR.

Lead by example, promoting teamwork, professionalism, and a culture of accountability.Qualifications : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Educational Requirements and Experience : Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida (Required).

Minimum of an Associates Degree from an accredited college / university.

Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Minimum two (2) years of nursing leadership experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Long-Term Care (LTC), or Acute Care setting.

Certification in Infection Prevention & Control (CIC) preferred or willingness to obtain.

Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role in a health care setting.

Experience in staff education, training program development, and competency assessments.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Language Ability : Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally, speaking the primary language of the residents.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.Mathematical Skills : Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret graphs.Cognitive Demands : Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Computer Skills : Ability to use Microsoft Windows and PCC preferred. Ability to use software to design calendars and signs.
