Job Description : Sr. UI Programmer

This is a contract position reporting to the Applications Manager and dotted line to the Technical Lead of the Agent Portal project. The person will contribute to the development, deployment, and support of new and existing applications. Programmer Analysts participate in all phases of the System Development Life Cycle as needed.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Adhere to System Development Life Cycle standards, including preparation of project-related documents as requested by the Project Manager.
• Design and develop applications as part of a team.
• Analyze and design system solutions.
• Troubleshooting and problem resolution skills.
• Be a team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Communicate effectively with technical / non-technical audiences.
• Participate in maintenance activities and provide on-call support.
• Work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Prepare unit and integration test plans for program changes and perform testing in cooperation with clients and other I.T. personnel.
• Document programming work based on team standards using SharePoint or WIKIs.

Additional Information :

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

Required : Excellent UI development skills.

Required : 5+ years of experience in development using .NET (VB.NET & C#) and SQL Server 2005 or higher.

Required : Strong knowledge of .NET Framework 1.1 / 2.0 / 3.5, Microsoft SQL Server, MVC 3 or higher, JavaScript, jQuery, KnockoutJS, Bootstrap, CSS3.

Advanced troubleshooting, data analysis, and issue resolution skills.

Experience with Team Foundation Server or similar configuration management tools.

Working knowledge of systems development life cycle and structured methodologies.

Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred :

HTML5

Familiarity with MVVM Pattern

Experience with JavaScript patterns

jQuery UI / jQuery Mobile

Kendo UI

CSS Less or SASS

Adobe Photoshop

Experience in the insurance industry (life, health, annuity) is a plus. Knowledge of SQL Server 2008, TFS, ESB, SOA, Rules Engine, WCF is also advantageous.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
