We are seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with deep wastewater expertise and a track record of successful project management. You will be the technical and managerial lead for projects centered on wastewater monitoring, SCADA systems, instrumentation, and process control. You won't just design systems—you’ll manage the entire project lifecycle to ensure our clients gain actionable data for regulatory compliance, process optimization, and asset protection. This is a critical role for a technical leader who thrives on client interaction and complex problem-solving. Key Responsibilities Project Leadership : Manage the full scope, schedule, budget, and quality of wastewater monitoring projects from conception (RFP) through design, procurement, installation, and commissioning. Technical Design : Lead the design and specification of wastewater monitoring networks, including flow monitoring, permanent and portable SAMPLERS, level sensors, water quality parameter sensors (DO, pH, NH3-N, etc.), and SCADA integration. Client & Regulatory Interface : Serve as the primary technical contact for clients and regulatory agencies (e.g., EPA, State DEP). Prepare and review regulatory reports (DMRs, CMOM, SSO reports) based on monitoring data. Construction & Implementation Oversight : Review contractor submittals, conduct field inspections, oversee sensor installation and calibration, and lead system startup and performance testing (SAT). Data Analysis & Reporting : Translate monitoring data into clear insights and recommendations for clients regarding infiltration / inflow (I / I), treatment process control, and capacity management. Team Development : Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with designers, field technicians, and data analysts. Who You Are (Qualifications) You Must Have : Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Electrical Engineering. Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license. Minimum 7+ years of civil / environmental engineering experience with a strong focus on wastewater systems. Minimum 5 years of direct project management experience, including budgeting, scheduling, and client management. Proven hands-on experience with wastewater collection system monitoring, instrumentation, and hydraulic modeling (e.g., SewerCAD, InfoWorks ICM). Exceptional communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences. What Will Make You Stand Out : Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Direct experience designing / specifying equipment from manufacturers like Hach, YSI, Xylem, ISCO, Teledyne ISCO, or similar. Expertise in CMOM programs, SSO investigations, or wastewater metering projects.
