We are looking for an experienced Plant / Process Engineer for our Pulp & Paper Segment to support the Washougal, WA production facility by performing various engineering tasks as directed by the plant manager.
In this role you will be responsible for :
- Improving chemical production and utility processes.
- Collaborating with production staff to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Leading process safety activities, including :
- Management of Change
- Process hazard analysis
- Pre-start up reviews
- Root Cause Analysis and corrective actions for process incidents.
- Training personnel on new / changed processes.
- Providing technical and process safety support for new / experimental product trials.
- Developing and updating operating procedures, P&IDs, engineering records.
- Supporting or leading capital projects.
- Assisting with creation of SOPs for new and existing equipment and processes as needed.
- Developing competency to fill in for team members as needs arise.
What you will bring to the team :
Chemical or Mechanical engineering degree3+ years of experience with chemical manufacturing, involving batch reactions.Excellent written and oral communication skills (English).Demonstrated track record of self-motivation and skills growth.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks / projects simultaneously within tight timeframes.Strong interactive skills with all levels of plant organization.Willingness to travel when required.Demonstrated Process Engineering and project support skillset including :Process troubleshooting Process Hazard Analysis leadership

Equipment startup & commissioning Automation & controls knowledge
Project scope development Design safety reviews
Contractor management Equipment ordering
