Overview :  We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Volunteer Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs). As a vital part of our community's emergency response team, you will be responsible for providing emergency medical services to protect lives and property during emergencies. This role requires bravery, compassion, and a commitment to serving others in times of crisis.

Responsibilities :

  • Emergency Medical Response :

Provide emergency medical care to individuals at the scene of accidents, medical emergencies, and other incidents.

  • Assess patients' conditions and administer basic life support (BLS) interventions, including CPR, bleeding control, and airway management.
  • Assist paramedics with advanced life support (ALS) procedures as needed, including administering medications and operating defibrillators.
  • Safely transport patients to medical facilities while providing ongoing medical care and monitoring vital signs.
  • Training and Professional Development :

    • Participate in ongoing training sessions and drills to maintain proficiency in emergency medical procedures and safety protocols.

  • Stay informed about advancements in emergency medical technology, procedures, and regulations.
  • Pursue opportunities for additional certifications and specialized training to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Team Collaboration :

    • Work closely with other volunteer firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, and emergency services personnel to ensure effective coordination and communication during emergencies.

  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, supporting fellow team members and contributing to a culture of excellence and professionalism.

    • Qualifications :

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must have a valid Alabama EMT License.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Must pass a background check, drug screen, and physical.
  • Physical fitness and agility to perform demanding tasks in various environmental conditions.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and make quick, sound decisions in emergency situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to commit to training requirements and respond to emergency calls on a rotating basis, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • No prior experience necessary; comprehensive training will be provided.
