Project Accountant Overview

The Project Accountant is responsible for overseeing accounting for the UAMS ESPC Project including maintenance of the general ledger and the month-end close process. They work closely with the Program Management team in areas including budget and forecast preparation, project financial analysis, and development of internal control policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily and monthly accounting processes including journal entries, account reconciliations and general ledger transactions.
• Prepares monthly client invoicing in coordination with the Program Management team.
• Enters subcontractor accounts payable invoices and manage needed cash disbursements.
• Assists in the preparation and analysis of financial information in accordance with GAAP.
• Prepares routine financial reports and ad-hoc reports for operational review and decision making.
• Provides analysis and recommendations to senior leadership by analyzing project financial performance, analyzing budget variances, and ensuring compliance.
• Assists with submission of information and necessary communication with internal and external auditors and respond appropriately to auditor comments and recommendations.

Physical / Work Environment Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Climbing stairs. Remaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods. Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and / or fingers. Quiet environment. Light work that includes adjusting and / or moving objects up to 20 pounds.

Pay Range

USD $58,080.00 - USD $77,570.00 / Yr.
