Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department

Job Description

We are searching for an Emergency Department Staff Nurse-someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position you'll provide quality nursing care to patients by assessing, planning, educating, implementing, and evaluating age-appropriate care in a manner that incorporates family-centered principles and cost-effective care. We need someone who can collect and analyze data from the medical record in order to coordinate patient care.

Texas Children's Emergency Center, located in the Texas Medical Center at 6621 Fannin St., provides a complete range of services to the greater Houston community, treating children with both medical and surgical emergencies.

Texas Children's Emergency Center, the largest pediatric emergency center in South Central Texas , has 53 beds, including shock trauma resuscitation beds, dedicated sexual assault examination room, and specialized isolation room. It is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's Degree in nursing Or Associates Degree in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement
• Or Technical diploma in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement
• Or Must be currently enrolled in a nursing bridge program working toward an MSN.
• Verified BSN-equivalency or a signed agreement is required.
• Current licensure with the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas is required
• Current BLS from the American Heart Association is required
• (1) year of professional nursing experience
• 1 year of Pediatric, Emergency, or Critical Care experience highly preferred
