Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a CAD / CAM Engineering Manager 2. This position will be located in Roy, UT, Colorado Springs, CO, Huntsville, AL, or Manhattan Beach, CA and will support the Sentinel program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What You'll Get To Do :
- Manage a team of individual contributors supporting multiple programs within SDS.
- Provide performance feedback, training, mentoring and coaching to your employees.
- Support workforce planning and maintain sufficient depth and breadth of skillsets within your teams core discipline to meet program needs.
- Responsible for employee performance reviews and supporting employee career development.
- Excellent communication, mentoring, interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate with senior management, peers, and employees.
- Support development and refinement of processes and tools that support business areas and programs in achieving their missions.
- Support proposal work, independent technical reviews, program standup and audits, and special assignments on an as needed basis.
- Support employee engagement, hiring, development, training, attraction, and retention of top talent.
- Provide technical support to SDS programs ensuring integration and effective collaboration with design teams to achieve program objectives.
- Responsible for development and maintenance of libraries of commercial parts and materials within CAD tools, specifically NX, Teamcenter, Siemens Capital and Xpedition.
- Collaborate with electrical, components, manufacturing, and other engineering disciplines to support the design of weapon systems.
- Perform risk analysis, trade studies, process improvement analysis, cost estimates, as applicable.
- Tracking to completion tasking and assignments for the team, assisting with workload balancing across team members, collecting metrics, and performing other project management functions for the team as applicable.
- Ensure team members have the required tools and access to perform their responsibilities.
- Collaborate with other engineering assignment managers / leads to align priorities and support overall execution of program objectives.

Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) with a minimum of 8 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree in STEM with 6 years of related experienceMust have U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain an interim Secret Security level clearance pre-start, with the ability to obtain a final Secret Security level clearance post-start.Experience maintaining part libraries or modeling component parts in a CAD tools / product lifecycle management systemsExperience using NX, Teamcenter, Xpedition, Siemens Capital, or equivalent CAD / PLM tool suitesExperience working with ASME, IPC or other industry standards and specificationsExperience in military / space equipment design or manufacturingExperience working with military or industry component part specifications or standardsThese Qualifications Would be Nice to Have :
Minimum 1 year experience leading a project and / or driving performance against scheduleSpecial Program AccessExperience interpreting and ensuring design compliance to industry and / or military standards and specifications for parts and materialsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science or other degree in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math6 months experience modeling component parts in NXThorough understanding of hardware development, design assemblies, mechanical equipment design, electromechanical equipment designBackground and understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)Experience with Siemens Capital, Teamcenter, or XpeditionAn Active, In-Scope DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the past 6 yearsWorking knowledge of military and industry standards for mechanical or electromechanical parts and assembliesFamiliar with technical drawings and engineering data for mechanical or electromechanical parts and assembliesExperience and familiarity with life cycle managementFamiliar with supply chain management as it relates to parts management and obtaining technical specifications on componentsExperience in parts, materials and processes management in design or manufacturing of military / space systemsICBM experience2 years experience in a people leadership role, or 4 years experience as a technical leadWorking knowledge of SharePoint, JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft teamsExperience in project management including microsoft project and visioExperience writing and defending technical position papersExperience working with chief engineers and Integrated Product TeamsExperience working in Agile and digital design environmentsDemonstrated ability to delegate tasks, and mentor junior engineersExperience reviewing technical drawings and engineering data for component partsExperience working with subcontractorsExcellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and managementAbility to function in a dynamic and collaborative environment, and be flexible to changing directionPrimary Level Salary Range : $126,600.00 - $219,800.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
