GIS Technician

A company is looking for a GIS Technician to support engineering and operations teams by maintaining accurate geospatial data.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain, update, and quality check GIS databases for accurate representation of fiber routes and assets

Adjust and correct shapefiles and KML / KMZ files to ensure proper alignment within the GIS system

Review and update DWG files, ensuring compliance with established mapping standards

Qualifications

Experience maintaining and updating GIS databases

Proficiency with shapefiles, KML / KMZ, and other geospatial formats

Familiarity with reviewing and adjusting DWG files; AutoCAD experience preferred

Ability to read and understand standard construction drawings

Competency using Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Word
