About the role
As a Junior Motor Winder, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and rewinding electrical motors and equipment. This role is ideal for candidates with mechanical knowledge and a keen eye for detail who are eager to develop their skills in motor winding and electrical testing. You will work closely with lead winders and shop managers to ensure high-quality repairs and maintenance, contributing to the reliability and performance of electrical machinery.
Job Responsibilities
- Inspect equipment for electrical or mechanical damage and report findings.
- Perform company-specified electrical and core loss tests with assistance.
- Document coil, wedge, filler, and winding dimensions accurately.
- Dismantle and strip damaged windings.
- Prepare and inspect reusable parts for rewind.
- Insert coils into rotor or stator cores and braze winding connections.
- Apply insulating techniques during rewinding with guidance.
- Test rewound equipment and document results.
- Complete required job paperwork accurately and timely.
- Operate specialized repair and testing equipment.
- Note : Winders are a bit different than the traditional coil winder you might find from Eaton or SPX. We do a lot of form wound coils in our motors, so a lot of the winding here is done manually (as opposed to by machine, like at a lot of the transformer places). Experience with that would be more what we are looking for.
