Accountabilities
Supervisory / Management Responsibility
This position does not involve managerial responsibilities and will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Graduation from an accredited school for Respiratory Therapy recognized by the American Medical Association or equivalent, or eligibility for licensure in South Carolina, or enrollment as a senior student graduating in the next three months.
Required Certifications / Registrations / Licenses
Must hold a license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in South Carolina or be eligible for one. BLS certification is required, and all applicable NBRC credentials must be maintained. Employees hired prior to June 2016 may be Certified Respiratory Therapists. Those hired after June 2016 must pass the Therapist Multiple Choice Exam and take the Clinical Simulation Exam within six months of graduation; failure to do so will lead to termination from Prisma Health.
NRP and PALS certifications are required for those working independently in the NICU and PICU at the Children's Hospital.
Other Required Skills and Experience
Successful candidates must be able to work effectively in a team environment and possess strong communication, computer, and organizational skills.
