Overview

Childrens Mercy Kansas City is seeking a clinical psychologist or neuropsychologist to join a robust interdisciplinary rehabilitation medicine team providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for patients following brain injuries neurologic illnesses and neurosurgeries. The psychologist would be a member of the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Health and would also be a vital team member of the multidisciplinary Rehabilitation Medicine team comprised of Physiatrists OT PT SLP Nutrition Child Life Specialists and other disciplines.

We are recruiting a psychologist who has training and / or experience with youth who have traumatic brain injuries abusive head trauma strokes spinal cord injuries concussions disorders of consciousness and other diagnoses requiring rehabilitation medicine or neurosurgery admissions. Experience conducting inpatient assessments family consultations multidisciplinary care conferences outpatient follow-up and targeted testing is desired.

This position will include teaching in the hospitals pediatric medical and psychology training programs. It will also include protected academic time for service research and other scholarly activities. Faculty mentoring is provided to all new faculty members with additional supports available for those interested in clinical scholarship (e.g. program evaluation quality improvement initiatives). This position carries an academic appointment at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine with rank commensurate to qualifications and experience.

Applicants must have :

• A PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology pediatric psychology pediatric neuropsychology clinical child psychology or related field
• Completion of an APA-accredited internship with clinical child and adolescent psychology as a major area of study or an APA-accredited neuropsychology internship and fellowship
• Eligibility for clinical psychology licensure in Missouri and Kansas

The Division of Developmental and Behavioral Health at Childrens Mercy is growing and expanding programs as part of the institutions Mental and Behavioral Health Strategic Plan Illuminate : Lighting the Path Forward for Mental Health Childrens Mercy .
