Finishing Operator Sewing

POSITION SUMMARY :

The Finishing Operator, Sewing is required to perform many functions within the plant, including, but not limited to, operating a variety of equipment. The main task will be operating commercial grade sewing machines. Other tasks may include moving boxes, products and supplies; operating computerized equipment; writing and filling out forms; sorting and collating products; following instructions from supervisors; and communicating effectively with other team members throughout the plant. The Finishing Operator, Sewing will be heavily involved in the printing / finishing of orders according to customer specifications (order details). This team member also maintains the Digital and Signs and Graphics production areas and equipment.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Process and produce Digital and Signs & Graphics print / finish orders as requested and / or directed
• Operate Digital and Signs & Graphics printers, binding and other auxiliary equipment (i.e., commercial grade sewing machine, heat press, laser cutter, etc.)
• Perform all phases of equipment set-up, operation and routine maintenance
• Maintain equipment and supplies, to include cleaning and repairing
• Provide customer service, including problem solving, to satisfy those needs with a minimum amount of supervision
• Produce work in accordance with LEAN manufacturing principles to enable Done Right, On Time quality results
• Follow instructions of supervisors and assist other team members in performing center functions
• Maintain work area to 5S standards (i.e., clean, safe, uncluttered)
• All other duties as needed or required
