Job Summary :
The Legal & Risk Management Coordinator provides part-time support to Nelson-Jameson's Legal & Risk Management function through contract administration, compliance tracking, insurance reporting, and risk mitigation activities. Working closely with the Director of Legal & Risk Management, this role assists with first-line contract reviews, drafts and tracks legal documents, maintains governance and licensing records, and supports OSHA / DOT reporting and insurance renewal cycles. In this role, you'll work on live legal and risk matters that directly support business operations.
This position is designed for current or recent students pursuing studies in legal administration, paralegal studies, risk management, pre-law, or a related field. It offers hands-on experience with real contract work, compliance programs, and insurance processes inside a business environment-not simulated assignments. The role is primarily remote, with one day per week onsite in our Wauwatosa office for coaching and collaboration. The schedule is flexible around your classes, and success requires a self-starter who is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable handling confidential information in an independent work environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Support contract administration by conducting first-line reviews, drafting / editing documents, coordinating task assignments, tracking progress in the contract system, and scheduling related meetings.
Investigate and process workers' compensation, liability, vehicle, and property claims; assist with insurance renewals through data gathering and submission
Provide scheduling support, meeting preparation, and documentation follow-up; organize records and shared resources.

Qualifications & Skills :
Education : Actively or recently enrolled in an Associate's or Bachelor's program in paralegal / legal administration, risk management, business, pre-law, or related field.
Up to 2 years of combined exposure to legal or risk topics through coursework, internships, research projects, or part-time roles.
