Albany Medical Center is proud to be the first hospital in the US to achieve verification by the Society of Vascular Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons as a Comprehensive Vascular Surgical Center. Our Vascular Surgery Units focus on patients with vascular disease and other surgical patients requiring telemetry monitoring. Patients may present with acute or chronic conditions, often accompanied by multiple co-morbidities or in hypercoagulable states, spanning ages 18 to 90+, predominantly between 45 and 65 years.

Common procedures include Carotid Endarterectomy, Lower Extremity Revascularization, Renal Stenting, and Vascular Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm repairs.

The Clinical Nurse plays a vital role in fostering a compassionate environment for patients, families, and colleagues through kindness and active listening. Each team member's contributions are valued and integral to fulfilling our Mission.

Key Responsibilities :

• Implement physician orders, administer medications, initiate IVs, perform treatments and procedures, and document care in compliance with relevant regulations.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.
• Assess patient needs and responses to care provided.
• Utilize sound nursing judgment in patient management decisions.
• Provide emergency and primary care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
• Administer medications as ordered, both over-the-counter and prescription.
• Collaborate with the nursing team to develop comprehensive Plans of Care.
• Guide and direct ancillary personnel while upholding professional nursing standards.
