Senior Unix Engineer

The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for a Senior Unix Engineer to provide systems engineering administration and operational support for the Unix / Linux environment within the Washington D.C office of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). This is an exciting opportunity where you will leverage your Linux expertise in a dynamic hybrid role (1-2 days onsite) to maintain harden troubleshoot and optimize Linux based systems across multiple domains.

Key Responsibilities :

• Install configure and maintain Linux-based servers and systems (RedHat).
• Manage system performance monitoring backups and troubleshooting.
• Ensure system security by configuring to CIS recommended baselines and applying patches and updates.
• Collaborate with the other operations teams to configure environments and troubleshoot system-related issues.
• Third party application installation and support
• Monitor and resolve hardware software and networking issues in a timely manner.
• Perform routine system upgrades patching and security compliance checks.
• Provide troubleshooting and technical support for escalated issues.
• Resolve incidents and tasks as assigned.
• Provide emergency response to critical outages or incidents.
• Document system configurations procedures and troubleshooting steps for internal use.

Pay Range :

Pay Range $107900.00 - $195050.00
