Job Description
Specialty Eye Group is looking for an Assistant Office Lead to support day-to-day operations and help our clinic running smoothly. This role is for someone who sees what needs to be done and steps in without waiting to be asked. We’re looking for a person who isn’t afraid to take action, hold themselves accountable, and grow through real responsibility.
While we are an optometry practice, we are not a traditional primary-care or optical-driven model. Our clinical focus is built around four core specialty pillars : Dry Eye, Myopia Management, Specialty Contact Lenses, and Binocular Vision abnormalities. Our long-term goals and daily priorities are centered on strengthening and expanding these four areas.
Routine eye care and optical services are an important part of what we do, but they are not the primary driver of our mission or our decision-making. This role requires someone who understands that distinction and can help keep the team aligned with where we are going.
We are a family-operated business, and we take work–life balance seriously. We intentionally do not work weekends so our team can recharge, spend time with family, and come back focused and present. We believe sustainable care starts with a supported team.
What this role looks like day to day
You will support the Office Lead in managing clinic flow, staff coordination, and patient experience, while ensuring our specialty services are operationally supported.
Responsibilities
Supporting front desk and clinical staff throughout the day
Stepping in quickly when issues arise and driving solutions forward
Helping prioritize schedules, staffing, and resources around specialty care
Assisting with onboarding and training new team members
Reinforcing clinic policies, procedures, and service standards
Holding yourself and others accountable to expectations
Acting as a point of contact when the Office Lead is unavailable
Maintaining a calm, professional presence during busy or high-acuity days
This is not a passive role. We need someone willing to put their feet to the fire, take ownership of outcomes, and follow through consistently.
Required Skills
What we’re looking for
Prior experience in a medical or optometry office strongly preferred
Clear understanding that specialty care drives our practice model
Willingness to take initiative and make decisions
Open mindset with the ability to learn, adapt, and accept feedback
Strong communication skills with both staff and patients
Ability to lead by example rather than by title
Organized, dependable, and solution oriented
Why this role matters
This position plays a direct role in helping us build and protect our four specialty pillars. The right person will help ensure daily operations support long-term clinical goals, not just volume.
Schedule, compensation, and benefits
This is an in-person role based in our Kirkland and Bellevue locations. Flexibility to work at both locations is required.
We offer competitive wages along with perks and benefits that reflect our commitment to our team and long-term retention.
If you’re someone who understands specialty care, isn’t afraid to take action, and wants to grow within a family-run practice that values balance and accountability, we’d love to hear from you.
