Job Description
Step Into a Day Building the Future of Flight
Morning in Matthews, NC. You open Mastercam, load a complex aerospace model, and map out a strategy for Inconel. By mid-morning, you’ve built efficient simultaneous 5‑axis toolpaths, dialed in CIMCO probing routines, and validated every move in Vericut. After lunch, you’re on the floor with DMG Mori multi‑axis machines, partnering with Manufacturing Engineering to refine workholding, custom tooling, and gauging. Before you leave, you’ve updated setup sheets, tool lists, and control plans—and mentored teammates who count on your judgment.
This is the rhythm at Northeast Tool & Manufacturing, where precision meets ambition. We’re seeking a CNC Programmer (levels I–III, based on experience) who thrives on tight tolerances, exotic alloys, and turning complex geometry into production‑ready reality.
What You’ll Own
- Create advanced programs in Mastercam for horizontal and vertical mills and lathes across a range of materials (Inconel, Monel, Hastelloy, Aluminum, Stainless Steel, etc.).
- Analyze part geometry and dimensions to choose the most efficient, production‑worthy machining strategy.
- Author, iterate, and continuously improve programs to meet aerospace and space engine hardware specifications.
- Verify every toolpath in Vericut and configure CIMCO probing to control critical features.
- Define repeatable machining processes : setup sheets, tooling lists, critical dimension / control sheets, and manufacturing plans.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering on workholding, custom tooling, and gauging to align with customer inspection requirements and schedules.
- Provide hands‑on troubleshooting to keep machines producing conforming parts.
- Drive cost and cycle‑time reductions by evaluating new cutting tools and automation with external vendors.
- Manage post‑job tooling : assess condition, sharpen when needed, and restock via the vending system.
- Maintain accurate documentation : setup documentation, programming change logs, and engineering checklists.
- Mentor and train CNC Programming Technicians and CNC Programmer I / II team members; distribute and review work when assigned.
- Lead continuous improvement, corrective actions, and root cause analysis using methods such as fishbone and 5‑Why.
- Serve as Programming’s point of contact with Quality, Management, and Operations, as assigned.
