Night shifts of 8 and 12 hours, with every third weekend rotation and holiday rotation.

Unit Overview :
Join our 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit, dedicated to caring for a diverse and complex patient population, including :
Post-operative craniotomies for bleed evacuation, AVMs, and tumor resections.Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgeries.Patients with hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes as part of our Comprehensive Stroke Program.A high volume of cervical and spinal surgery patients, along with medical overflow cases.As part of the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII), you will be exposed to the latest neurosurgical techniques and cutting-edge care.

Use the nursing process to assess patient needs, plan individualized interventions, and evaluate care effectiveness.Recognize changes in patient condition and adjust the care plan as necessary.Implement strategies to enhance patient safety and readiness to learn.Coordinate discharge plans using an interdisciplinary approach.Evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes and take corrective actions as needed.Demonstrate effective communication and conflict resolution skills.Promote a culture of safety and report any safety events promptly.Engage in ethical decision-making and collaborate with the healthcare team.Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance department functions.Continually seek opportunities for personal and professional development.Licensure and Qualifications :
Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).Education :
Completion of an accredited nursing program.Experience :
Typically requires at least 1 year of clinical nursing experience.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
