Position Details Setting : Inpatient consult service at Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA Occasional need for outpatient clinic coverage at the Harbour View area in Suffolk, VA Rare cross-coverage possible at Mary Immaculate Hospital in Newport News, VA Adult / Geriatric population only Average 6-8 patients per day Schedule : Full-time, Monday-Friday, 7 : 00 AM-5 : 00 PM Four 10-hour shifts with a rotating day off No call What You'll Do Deliver expert inpatient palliative consultations, including chart review, patient assessment, and symptom management Conduct meaningful goals-of-care conversations, advance care planning, and end-of-life discussions Provide emotional and spiritual support to patients and families Coordinate care with referring teams, nursing, social work, chaplaincy, and other involved providers Use robust tools including EPIC, MyChart, and DAX CoPilot / AI documentation support Contribute to a warm, patient-centered environment where dignity, comfort, and communication are key What We're Looking For 3-5 years of hospice or palliative care experience (highly preferred) A provider who demonstrates emotional intelligence, compassion, and a patient-first mindset Someone who values teamwork, communication, and a mission-driven approach to care What We Offer Competitive base salary annual quality bonus Up to $5,000 relocation assistance (taxable) 32 days ATO annually Annual $3,000 CME allowance Medical, dental, vision, Rx, FSA, life insurance 403(b) with company match Company-paid short & long-term disability Full coverage of VA license, DEA, liability, and tail insurance A supportive environment with strong clinical and Medical Director mentorship About Bon Secours Mercy Health You're in good company here.
