Description : MISSION

To inspect, diagnose, maintain and repair customers heavy-duty vehicles and equipment such as cars, pickups, trucks, buses, trailers, and other equipment. Ensures all machinery operates safely, efficiently

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure they are in proper operating condition
• Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, lathes, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists. pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, lathes, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists
• Adjust and reline brakes, align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment
• Examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices
• Diagnose, recommend, and complete vehicle alignment on commercial trucks and other vehicles based on guest needs.
• Balance wheel assemblies and perform commercial tire service.
• Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery
• Repair and maintain company trailers
• Complete all truck repairs less than complete engine overhauls
• Embrace Purcell’s culture of safety and perform all jobs in a safe manner
• Maintain standards of cleanliness, orderliness, and appearance of maintenance shed
• Protect company assets
• Regular attendance in accordance with assigned schedule
• Ability to perform physical requirements as listed in job description
• Other essential and non-essential duties, as assigned by management

DRUG TESTING

Purcell Tire tests for the presence of THC in all drug screenings for this position, due to the safety-sensitive nature of the job and the potential for injury or death when a tire is installed improperly, or a safety-related mechanical issue is not properly conveyed to a customer. It is a bona fide occupational qualification for service technicians to be unimpaired, so the Company will continue testing for THC and other drugs under the safety-sensitive exceptions allowed by your state.
