A highly regarded structural consulting firm in the Alexandria / Springfield, VA area is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join their growing team. This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity supporting high-profile federally funded projects , including Anti-Terrorism / Force Protection (ATFP) work and structural upgrades at major airports.
If you're a PE-licensed structural engineer with at least 4+ years of experience and a desire to grow into a senior leadership role, this is your chance to make an impact and advance your career.
Position Highlights
- Base Salary : ~ $95K-$120K+ (highly negotiable depending on experience, licensure, and education)
- Schedule : Flexible 40-hour week with options for 4x10 schedule or ~ 1 WFH day / week after 90 days
- Location : Alexandria, VA 22312 (Springfield side)
- Travel : Occasional - sometimes to unique locations like Tokyo!
- Work Environment : Casual dress code, modern office with full kitchen, gym, parking garage
What You'll Be Doing
Supervise junior structural designers and engineersCoordinate with architects and engineering teams across disciplinesPerform and oversee analysis / design of structural systems for various materials using codes such as IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, and UFCContribute to project management under the guidance of a PrincipalConduct field surveys and document existing conditionsReview structural systems for existing buildingsWrite technical reports and attend project meetingsOversee contract document production and contractor RFI / submittal responsesSupport quality control and ensure deliverables meet deadlines and budgetsWhat We're Looking For
Required :
U.S. Citizenship (due to federal project requirements)Authorized to work in the U.S. now and in the future - no sponsorshipBachelor's in Structural, Civil, or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited programPE (or SE) licenseMinimum 4 years of structural engineering experienceExperience supervising junior team membersExcellent communication and organizational skillsDesire to grow into a long-term leadership rolePreferred :
Master's DegreeExperience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, RAM, Tekla, Tedds, MathCAD, or Deltek AjeraAbility to obtain Secret or Top-Secret clearanceWhy Engineers Love Working Here
