Maintains open communication with all interdisciplinary departments. Functions as a resource for events/incidents regarding patient admissions, transfers, transports, and discharges. Maintains professional competency by participating in continuing education and appropriate learning experiences, both internal and external. Utilizes in-house administration and specialists as resources and attends pertinent conferences and seminars regarding clinical nursing business or nurse management. Enters patient rooms to complete patient safety and physical environment rounding. Compiles and maintains data repositories, scorecards, and dashboards. Researches and maintains validity of all reportable data. Oversees grassroots projects developed by nursing units and provides clinical oversight to these projects. Provides assessments of targeted pediatric or adult nursing processes and develops work teams to reengineer work processes. Leads clinical process improvement teams and develops monitoring tools to evaluate the effectiveness of changes. Other duties as assigned.Education:
• Bachelor's of Nursing [Required]
• Master's of Nursing [Preferred]
• Master’s degree in Nursing Informatics or Business or Healthcare Informatics [Preferred]
Work Experience:
• 1+ experience in a healthcare organization [Preferred]
• 2+ experience in a related analytic position [Preferred]
Licenses and Certifications:
• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
• Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) [Preferred]
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Pediatric/Adult nurse skills that take into account the developmental needs of the patient.
• Extremely knowledgeable in “patient and family centered care” concepts.
• Ability to lead work teams through process improvement activities.
• Personal qualities such as kindness, understanding, integrity, respect, sense of humor, discretion, and confidentiality.
• Advanced computer skills in Excel and PowerPoint applications (pivot tables, basic statistical analysis).
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
• Good organizational, filing, and writing skills.
• Excellent computer skills, proficient in navigating Word, Excel, PowerPoint, with familiarity in Access.
• Knowledge of medical record formats and effective use of a medical records system.
• Ability to evaluate and correlate clinical information with appropriate definitions or specifications.
• High degree of concentration to effectively interpret medical records and accurately abstract data.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently, including from a remote environment.
• English language proficiency with effective writing, listening, speaking, and teaching communication skills.
• Expert interpretation of raw data and comparative analysis.
• Ability to work with data that is secure and confidential.
• Mastery of MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
• Expertise with an Electronic Health Record/Electronic Medical Record.
• Demonstrates expert analytical and organizational skills.
• Experience applying quality management/performance improvement and customer service approaches.
• Demonstrated capabilities with windows-based software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and database.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Leadership qualities, strong communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively summarize data, present insights, and facilitate discussion of results.
• Initiative to work independently and ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage efforts across multiple projects.
• Familiar with data visualization and statistical analysis tools.
• Knowledge of data extraction and analysis of current electronic medical records.

Pay Range:
