Summary :
The X-Ray Reader will play a crucial role in utilizing non-destructive testing expertise to ensure compliance with quality standards set by our company and our clients. You will interpret radiographic images while documenting results according to established techniques. Additionally, you'll develop shooting techniques, calibrate equipment, and provide training to X-Ray Shooters / Readers as necessary.
Essential Functions :
- Conduct non-destructive testing using radiographic images to assess casting quality and identify necessary corrections for part discrepancies.
- Follow established techniques for radiographic inspections of castings via technique cards.
- Evaluate images to ensure both uniform accuracy and image quality.
- Visually inspect each casting to detect areas needing improvement in casting or welding.
- Identify frequently occurring imperfections and liaise with engineering or other relevant departments.
- Authorize radiographic reports confirming that complete and accurate inspections have been conducted and findings recorded.
- Develop and refine shooting techniques as necessary.
- Calibrate and maintain radiographic equipment.
- Provide training and guidance to other team members as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Ability to comprehend all relevant documentation and part routing procedures.Capability to maintain high-quality ratings while processing parts efficiently.Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.Education, Certifications, and Experience :
Completion of a 40-hour classroom training in Radiographic Inspection I and II is required.A minimum of 1 year experience as a radiographer is necessary.Certification as RT, CR, or DDA Level II from a previous employer, or eligibility to obtain Digital Level II certification in Radiographic Testing (40 hours classroom training plus 600 hours of on-the-job training) is required.Please bring all radiographic training documents, OJT sheets, and previous employer certification records to the interview if selected.A High School diploma or GED is mandatory.Mental & Physical Demands :
Must possess visual acuity that meets test chart standards along with color perception to differentiate between colors used.Work Conditions :
Work may occur in environments that are noisy, with potential odors and fumes present.Schedule : Various Shift Opportunities Available :
Swing Shift - (Monday-Thursday 4 : 00pm-2 : 30am)Weekend Day Shift - (Friday-Sunday 5 : 00am-5 : 30pm)Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates.
