Location :

  • Urbana, OH Job Title : Team Leader – Assembly Operations - 3rd Shift Rittal is a leading global provider of solutions for industrial enclosures, power distribution, climate control, and IT infrastructure, as well as software and services.

  • We design and manufacture the world’s leading industrial and IT enclosures, racks, and accessories, including high-efficiency, high-density power management, and climate control systems for industrial, data center, outdoor, and hybrid applications.

Primary Activities / Duties :

  • Ensure labor and materials are available to meet production schedules and customer demand.
  • Oversee the assembly and packaging of products to meet quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Achieve and exceed targets for quality, productivity, uptime, on-time delivery, and cost.
  • Perform work content at every station per work instruction and takt time as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment following 5S principles.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-training of assembly line workers; maintain and update training matrix.
  • Track daily attendance and complete timekeeping documentation accurately.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using the Rittal Production System (RPS).
  • Collaborate with internal departments such as Quality, Engineering, and Planning to resolve production issues.
  • Interface with internal suppliers (e.g., paint, fabrication) to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Actively contribute to process improvements and efficiency enhancements.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture through active engagement with peers, supervisors, and management.

    • Knowledge & Experience :

  • High school diploma or GED strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in assembly operations required; leadership experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with basic 5S and lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and analytical thinking.

    • Safety Requirements :

  • Wear safety-toed footwear Safety glasses with side shields Hearing protection Other PPE as required.

    • Work Environment :

  • Manufacturing and warehouse areas with exposure to hot and cold temperatures, dust, and noise.
