Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at a Southeast Milwaukee paper converting company. The ideal candidate should be proficient in reading electrical and mechanical drawings, diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues, and performing repairs on a variety of machinery. The role involves maintenance, repair, and adjustment of rewinding, folding, conveying, packaging machinery, and general factory equipment.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Test fuses and reset electrical overloads on motors.
• Diagnose and differentiate between electrical and mechanical problems.
• Change out electrical motors and re-install them, ensuring correct rotation.
• Repair or replace shafts, gearboxes, belts, chains, sprockets, idler rollers, gears, guards, brakes, air and hydraulic cylinders, pumps, clutches, and bearings.
• Utilize welding skills with ark, mig, tig, or flame cutting.
• Implement preventative maintenance systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical problems independently with minimal supervision.
• Maintain personal toolset for daily tasks.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, and conveyor systems.
• Strong understanding of preventive maintenance procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Technical degree and/or demonstrated equivalent experience.

Work Environment

This position offers a clean and dynamic work environment in a non-union paper company. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm, with training hours from 7 am to 3 pm. The company provides a competitive shift premium in addition to the hourly wage.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Cudahy, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
