Roles and Responsibilities :
Sign, Review and Prepare diversified quality tax returns under the direction of the Senior Tax Manager.
Find tax solutions to complicated tax issues.
Perform technical review of tax returns by assuring all tax returns, work papers, and projects are technically accurate and complete.
Identify legal tax savings and recommend ways to improve profits.
Interpret the U.S. Tax Code and research the implications of tax laws and advise clients on tax related issues.
Communicate directly with clients, colleagues, management, and IRS representatives regarding various tax matters.
Assist with business development efforts including meeting with prospective clients and evaluating clients' needs.
Supervision of tax accountants, including review of completed returns by junior tax associates.
Advise management about the impact of tax liabilities and corporate strategies or new tax laws.
Develops and implements staff performance objectives; assists team members in achieving objectives assigned. Trains, motivates, and holds team members accountable on assigned projects.
Mentor junior team members with a collaborative spirit.
All duties expected of a tax accountant are expected of this role.
Qualifications : CPA / EA (required).
MBA (preferred), BS (preferred).
Top-shelf tax experience in corporate, partnership and individual tax, as well as public tax accounting firm experience.
Highly organized.
Tax software experience such as Lacerte, CCH, SurePrep, GruntWorkx, QuickBooks.
