Restorative Aide (CNA)

POSITION DESCRIPTION :

Assists patients to achieve or maintain their highest practicable level of ADL function through consistent, structured, and controlled re-teaching and retraining techniques to promote increased participation in activities of daily living.

GENERAL DUTIES

Receives assignment from supervisor and performs duties in accordance with each patient’s detailed plan of care, providing care to patients who are presently receiving restorative ADL nursing interventions.

Receives training from therapists and supervisors on the restorative techniques and performs techniques

Checks patients in section regularly; Answers call lights promptly; Follows through with patient problems or needs by delivering care or reporting to Supervisor depending upon level of ability and nature of patient need.

Performs any miscellaneous work assignments as may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Successful completion of State Approved Nursing Assistant Training and Competency Evaluation Program; Name must appear on State Registry as Nursing Assistant in good standing. Successful completion of restorative training.
• Ability to communicate with patients and nursing staff.
• Ability to read and write, desirable.
• One-year experience as Nursing Assistant or Physical Therapist Assistant, preferred.
