Job Description
- Implement physician orders, administer medications, initiate IVs, perform treatments and special tests, and document all treatment according to company policies and regulatory standards.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to accurately assess patients' conditions.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patient needs and responses to the care provided.
- Apply sound nursing judgment in making informed patient care management decisions.
- Provide primary and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Administer both over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered by physicians.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to develop comprehensive Plans of Care for all patients.
- Guide and direct ancillary personnel to maintain high standards of professional nursing practices.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree).Current NYS Registered Nurse license is required.Obtain and maintain certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).A minimum of 1-3 years of prior clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care settings.Strong communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills.Demonstrate knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving techniques, applying them to support patient care quality improvement initiatives.Thank you for considering a career with Albany Medical Center!
