Police Officer
Performs law enforcement and crime prevention by patrol and investigations, controls traffic, enforces state and local traffic regulations and other ordinances and laws, protects the life and property of the citizens of Gladstone, does related law enforcement activities.
Works under the general supervision of a Police Sergeant; may receive direction from other members of the Command staff.
Supervision is not a responsibility of this position however, this position will provide direction and guidance to Reserve Police Officers.

Preference will be given to lateral candidates. To be considered a qualified lateral applicant, you must currently be certified as an Oregon Police Officer, successfully completed a minimum twelve (12) month probationary period and have two (2) years full-time on the job experience. NTN TESTING and ORPAT are waived for Oregon Lateral Candidates. Out-of-state lateral candidates must take and pass the NTN examination before advancing in the process and must be eligible to become Oregon certified by attending the 80-hour Police Career Officer's Development Course offered by the Department of Police Safety Standards and Training (DPSST).
Entry-level candidates are required to complete the National Testing Network (NTN) FrontLine National Exam and ORPAT certification. The City of Gladstone will not accept written / reading exams from agencies other than NTN. Passing scores : written and reading exam - 70%, video exam - 70%. Testing dates fill up quickly, candidates should schedule as soon as possible.
