The Director of Medical Services will oversee and mentor Clinical Directors within the designated market. You’ll be accountable for the clinical outcomes of your centers, driving performance objectives, culture, and growth. This role balances direct patient care responsibilities with crucial leadership and mentoring duties.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead the clinical operations of multiple centers to ensure top-notch clinical outcomes and financial success.
  • Mentor and coach Medical Directors to promote excellence in clinical care.
  • Enhance talent development for our Primary Care Physicians (PCPs), Nurse Practitioners (NPs), and Medical Directors.
  • Promote a positive physician culture that reflects our core values and delivers outstanding patient experiences.
  • Collaborate with Clinical COE to train new practitioners and support their integration.
  • Play a vital role in recruiting top-tier clinical talent while enhancing our community and payer relationships.
  • Foster a robust market culture, responding to workplace concerns with urgency.
  • Manage referrals and ensure effective utilization of resources across the assigned market.

Additional duties may include :

  • Assisting with market quality and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Conducting monthly scorecard reviews for clinical metrics and outcomes.
  • Providing training support to other ChenMed entities as needed.
  • Establishing deep relationships with providers and key stakeholders.
  • Utilizing local market insights to drive clinical initiatives.
  • Implementing cost reduction strategies while ensuring high-quality care.
  • Engaging directly with patients to deliver exceptional care as a PCP (20% of your time).

    • Required Skills and Qualifications :

  • MD or DO in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or similar specialty.
  • A minimum of 2 years clinical experience required; 3 years preferred.
  • Prior experience as a Medical Director or similar role, especially in a Medicare or Medicaid setting, is strongly preferred.
  • Board eligibility is mandatory; Board Certification preferred.
  • Current active medical license in the state of employment.
  • Proven track record as a high-performing physician with clinical leadership experience.
  • Familiarity with population risk management and chronic disease care is essential.
  • Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams in healthcare leadership.

    • Compensation : $231,876 - $331,251 Salary
