Job Description

Amentum is seeking a Electrician located in the Williamsburg area of Virginia. The Electrician is performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy. Work involves most of the following : installing or repairing any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment; working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications, locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment, working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment, and using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments. In general, the work of the maintenance electrician requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.

Job Requirements :

• Knowledge of NEC code required.
• Ability to read blueprints, manuals, and construction drawings.
• Performs all facets of electrical installations.
• Troubleshoots equipment for electrical issues to prevent malfunctions and / or identify opportunities for improvements.
• Responsible for troubleshooting electrical issues, repairing, replacing, and maintaining the electrical wiring and circuits on assets on the base by responding promptly to equipment breakdowns and repairing the machinery's electrical components in a timely manner.
• Knowledge and experience working with voltages up to 480 V.
• Maintain and repair as needed all indoor / outdoor lighting systems to include all associated controls and to maintain and repair electrical distribution system in base buildings.
• Repair and replace as needed motors, contacts, relays, motor starters, and motor sheaves, wiring as it pertains to HVAC equipment.
• Skilled in use of tools common to the trade including electric meters

and hand and powered tools.
