A leading designer and manufacturer of custom automation, assembly, and test equipment serving the life sciences, personal care, and food and beverage industries is seeking an experienced Machine Builder II.

This role is responsible for assembling and building high-speed automation and assembly systems. As part of the Build Department, you will collaborate closely with engineering and field service teams and report directly to the Build Manager.

This position is 100% onsite in Belvidere, IL, with occasional travel to a South Elgin, IL location as needed based on workload.

Key Responsibilities

Build and troubleshoot automated assembly machines, sub-assemblies, and electrical components from engineering drawings and specifications.

Assemble mechanical systems, including machined parts, gear motors, drives, bearings, sensors, conveyors, feeders, and other industrial components using hand and power tools.

Assemble and plumb pneumatic systems with solenoid valves and actuators.

Diagnose and correct assembly issues using precision measuring instruments.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years’ experience building and assembling automated or custom machinery.

Strong mechanical aptitude with basic machine shop skills and the ability to assemble and disassemble machinery.

Proficiency with precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.

Ability to operate machine shop equipment (mills, lathes, etc.).

Familiarity with PLCs and AC / DC fundamentals is a plus.

High school diploma required; an associate degree or certificate in industrial technology, applied science, or a related field is preferred.
