Carecomm Clinical Command Center Manager
CareComm is a high-tech "mission control" clinical command center which uses artificial intelligence and predictive analytics to improve and better coordinate patient care at a lower cost. It has been developed in partnership with GE Healthcare, and features 20 artificial intelligence apps, video walls with 38 large screens, 32 work stations, multiple computer systems, and a multi-disciplinary clinical team that includes doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals. CareComm staff use these resources to predict the needs of patients and team members before they arise. With CareComm, Tampa General can anticipate potential roadblocks and issues in the care process, ensuring that rooms, equipment and medical professionals will be available for patients as soon as they're needed.
Primary Responsibilities
- Interviews, hires, assigns work to and evaluates work performance of employees supervised.
- Ensures operational excellence of accurate and timely patient planning / placement.
- Serves as CareComm liaison for Ambassador program and physician relations for direct admits via our transfer center.
- Oversees and facilitates daily patient throughput activities (huddles, mitigate barriers / delays)
- Facilitates the development and operations an assigned area of specialty, modality, program, or section.
- Prepares and submits operational budget recommendations for area of specialty, modality, program, or section for approval; revises as appropriate. Monitors assigned budget and adheres to budget and productivity guidelines.
- Selects, orients, and trains new team members. Ensures competence of assigned team members and compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policy and performance requirements.
- Builds and fosters collaborative relationships with other departments / service-lines within the organization to stay informed and abreast of new initiatives, products, and services; identifies opportunities to support organizational initiatives, quality, efficiency, effectiveness and service excellence. This includes other key organizations that partner with the command center to achieve and align with our strategic goals
- Oversees key projects, processes and performance reports, data and analysis; forecast requirements, analyzes variances and initiates corrective actions and process improvements.
- Develops and implements ongoing quality and operational process improvements through the demonstration of quantifiable clinical and / or operational outcomes, safety management and operational efficiency.
- Creates updates and maintains operational metrics and analytics reporting process including the communication of such metrics and analytics.
- Confers with Senior Director to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions.
- Plans for change, resolves conflicts and solves problems related to staff, peers, physicians, administration, patients, families and persons from other departments.
- Performs case reviews as needed for any variances that impacts safety, quality and efficiencies and develops action plans and follow up as needed.
- Utilizes verbal and nonverbal, written and oral skills for both interpersonal and group communications
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, participating in professional societies.
- Possesses current knowledge in leadership, communication, decision-making, planning, organizing, directing, controlling, evaluating, problem-solving, implementing change and negotiating.
- Utilizes priority and time management skills, calendars and schedules.
- Incorporates current research, new interventions and technological advances into the daily operations and / or redesign of unit's / units' activities.
- Performs other responsibilities as assigned.
- A level of knowledge normally acquired through the attainment of a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Three (3) years of progressive leadership / supervisory experience in healthcare setting.
- Clinical background preferred. Previous Nurse Manager Experience a plus.
