POSITION REQUIREMENTS :

TDCJ is seeking an experienced COBOL Mainframe Developer with Micro Focus Enterprise experience for their team. This role is to work on modernizing legacy systems and migrating to a platform that requires proficiency in modern Integrated Development Environments (IDEs).

JOB DESCRIPTION :

Key Responsibilities :

• COBOL Development : Utilize your in-depth knowledge of COBOL programming on mainframes to maintain and enhance existing applications.
• Micro Focus Enterprise Experience : Leverage your expertise in Micro Focus Enterprise (formerly known as Micro Focus COBOL) to develop, debug, and optimize COBOL code.
• Modernization Projects : Lead and participate in initiatives aimed at modernizing legacy systems, including the migration to a platform that relies extensively on modern IDEs.
• IDE Proficiency : Demonstrate proficiency in modern Integrated Development Environments (IDEs), to develop, test, and debug COBOL applications.
• Workflow Adjustment : Be flexible and adaptable in adjusting workflows to meet evolving project needs and technology requirements.
• Collaboration : Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system analysts, business analysts, and quality assurance professionals, to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Quality Assurance : Ensure code quality and perform unit testing to identify and resolve defects.
• Troubleshooting : Diagnose and resolve technical issues, ensuring the stability and performance of applications.
