Med / Surg RN Job Details – Cookeville, TN

Location : Cookeville, Tennessee 38501 (Tennessee nursing jobs)

Facility Type : Short-term acute care hospital

Unit : 6N Medical Unit (includes inpatient oncology patients)

Shift : Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19 : 00 - 07 : 00)

Hours per Week : 36

Duration : 13-week travel nursing contract (Start : 1 / 5 / 2026 – End : 4 / 6 / 2026)

Patient Ratio : 1 : 5-6

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend

Scrub Color : Royal blue

Parking : Free on-site parking

Charting : Paragon system

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1700-$1820

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Tennessee or compact state)

Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg RN experience

BLS certification required

ACLS certification preferred

Experience with inpatient oncology patients is a plus

First-time travel nurses are welcome

Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs

Local candidates (within 50 miles) not accepted

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a busy medical / surgical unit

Care for patients with diverse diagnoses, including comfort care, oncology, and radiation therapy

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams : Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy

Maintain accurate documentation using the Paragon charting system

Participate in rapid response and promote patient safety initiatives

Float to other hospital units within nursing scope as needed
