Associate Vice President, Us Public Credit Accounting
Ares Management is seeking an Associate Vice President ("AVP") for our US Public Credit accounting team. The AVP will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting and oversight of the publicly traded business development companies ("BDCs").
Primary Functions And Essential Responsibilities
- Assist in preparation of US GAAP financial statements for monthly, quarterly and annual SEC filings (10K, 10Q, 8K, N-2, etc.) for two BDCs.
- Preparation of quarterly footnote and MD&A disclosures and other analyses, as needed
- Preparation of quarterly board reporting
- Assist in managing relationships and liaising with internal resources, fund administers and auditors to meet all daily, monthly, quarterly and annual deadlines.
- Oversee and review monthly NAV packages from the fund administrator.
- Assist with monthly / quarterly close process, preparation of various financial statement account balance reconciliations / workpapers and fluctuation analyses.
- High level of interaction across the organization, including communications with portfolio managers, investor relations, legal, compliance, operations, tax, FP&A and financial reporting.
- Provide and review detailed reporting to investors and internal constituents (portfolio managers, investor relations)
- Provide compliance reporting (Form PF, ADV, etc.)
- Work closely with operations and other groups in managing daily cash and position breaks
- Review monthly portfolio position and cash reconciliations.
- Track and coordinate expense payments for the fund
- Participate and contribute to regular review of processes and deliverables to improve effectiveness, efficiency, accuracy to ensure scalability as the firm continues to grow rapidly.
- Various ad-hoc / special projects.
Qualifications
Education :
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldCertification :
CPA (preferred)Experience Required :
Minimum 6-9 years of experience in fund accounting preferredPublic Accounting experience, Big 4 (preferred)Industry experience, specifically with bank debt preferredExperience with Advent Geneva, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Onestream software a plusGeneral Requirements :

Compensation
$150,000 - $180,000
