Job Description

The Staff RN works under the supervision of the Med-Surg Nurse Manager to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise individual patient care on the nursing unit according to established policies, procedures, and guidelines. The RN accepts responsibility for directing co-workers in the implementation of the patient's plan of care and performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care using the Nursing Process by completing nursing assessments of patients and documenting appropriately in the patient chart, developing a plan of care based on these assessments, and implementing this care.
• Evaluates patient's response to care and updates the plan of care accordingly.
• Oversees the delegation of specifics of the patient plan of care to unit staff.
