Position Overview:
We are seeking a deadline-driven Structural Engineer to direct, analyze, and create structural drawings and details. You will bridge the gap between design concepts and physical reality, ensuring that every project we build is safe, stable, and compliant with all relevant codes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Structural Design: Analyze and design structural components for new builds, additions, and renovations, ensuring they can withstand various forces and loads.
- Collaboration: Work closely with architectural designers to integrate structural requirements seamlessly with aesthetic and functional designs.
- Code Compliance: Ensure all designs adhere to national and local safety standards, building codes, and regulations.
- Site Visits: Conduct site inspections to verify that construction is being performed according to the engineered plans.
- Material Selection: Evaluate and recommend construction materials and techniques that offer the best durability and performance for each project.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain project documentation, including analysis findings, progress reports, and compliance verifications.
- Risk Assessment: Perform risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential structural hazards.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering.
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience in the construction industry required.
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred. Candidates who are currently an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) and are able to obtain their PE within one year are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software and design analysis software.
- Knowledge: Working knowledge of relevant building codes and industry standards.
