Assistant Director, Career Advising

Provide career advising and career education programs for College of Engineering with a primary focus on graduate students. Serve as team lead for marketing & communications.

We are a six-person team running a full-service career office for students who are smart, hard-working, and in high demand for their STEM skills & education. Programs and services include :

  • Individual advising, workshops, career courses, and online resources.
  • Career fairs hosted in fall and spring, both in-person and virtual.
  • Alumni mentorship & networking programs + employer outreach and event hosting.
  • High-quality marketing to promote our events, programs, and opportunities.
  • Survey & data collection on internship and first-destination outcomes.

    • Responsibilities include :

  • Provide 1 : 1 career advising for students from all College of Engineering programs, with special emphasis on advising undergraduate students.
  • Create, deliver, and continually improve career education programs.
  • Create, distribute, and continually improve career education content, including how-to guides and online video instruction.
  • Provide outreach to student groups to deliver partnered career programs, especially events related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Serve as team lead in one of the following support functions, based on strengths and interests :
  • Event Planning & Management
  • Marketing & Communications
  • Employer Engagement
  • Alumni Engagement
  • Data & Platform Management
  • Career Education Content Management

    • Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of related experience
