Compensation Analyst – Temporary Consultant
Location : Springfield, MA
Pay Rate : $35–43 / hour, based on experience
The Compensation Analyst is responsible for supporting the design, administration, and ongoing evaluation of compensation programs to ensure internal equity, external competitiveness, and compliance with applicable regulations. This role partners closely with Human Resources, Finance, and leadership to provide data-driven compensation insights.
Responsibilities
Conduct market pricing and benchmarking analyses using external compensation surveys and tools
Support pay equity analyses and assist with remediation planning as needed
Perform job evaluations and maintain job architecture and salary structures
Partner with HR and leadership on compensation-related decisions, including new roles, promotions, and adjustments
Analyze compensation data, trends, and metrics to support workforce planning and budgeting
Assist with annual compensation review processes, including merit and market adjustments
Ensure compensation practices align with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices
Maintain accurate compensation data within HR systems and reporting tools
Prepare reports and presentations for HR leadership and senior management
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
3+ years of experience in compensation analysis
Proficiency with Excel and data analysis tools
Professional HR certification preferred (e.g., CCP, PHR, SHRM-CP)
