Position Description
The Technician Apprentice is an entry-level technical role designed to build foundational skills in equipment repair, installation, and maintenance. Works under close supervision to learn fabrication, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
Major Areas of Responsibility
- Perform basic welding and fabrication tasks, including supporting cutting and fabrication projects
- Complete assigned jobs with minimal supervision while meeting established time standards
- Perform basic hydraulic repairs such as hose replacements, fitting repairs, and minor leak corrections
- Maintain DOT certification to perform annual inspections
- Perform all required shop attendant duties
- Assist technicians with equipment installations and repair tasks
- Learn and apply proper use of tools, diagnostic equipment, and repair procedures
- Participate in company training programs and safety meetings
- Successfully complete required training and skill development assignments
Minimum Qualifications & Skills
High school diploma / GED1+ year mechanical and D / C electrical aptitudeHold OTE forklift certification (obtained through on the job training).Ability to read and understand basic diagrams and instructionsCommitment to learning and growing technical knowledgeStrong attention to detail and willingness to follow directionMust have your own basic set of toolsVerbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak English fluentlyComplete all duties and responsibilities assigned to Technician ApprenticeWork Requirements
